A Dreamer, A Believer, A Warrior

Where do I begin?!  As an obese woman, you are constantly thinking about what people say about you or how they look at you and especially how they treat you.  You feel like you are never good enough or if you were “smaller” would anyone want you then.  Yes, this was what ran thru my mind on a daily basis.  A few years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare medical condition and the doctors told me that if I did not lose weight I may not be here to see my son have a future.  High risk factor phase.  Not knowing what to do or where to go from there, I desperately started looking to see what I could do to lose weight so that I could be here for my son.  I’ve tried every fad diet out there and you guessed it, no luck whatsoever.  My weight was like a yo-yo up and down.  The battle just kept getting worst.  Was at the phase of could barely raise my feet to walk I was dragging them because I was so big and I finally reached the point I just wanted to give up all together.  One day I was online and came across Mike’s profile page on FB.  As I started to read it, I just knew he would be the one that could help me.  Just had that feeling.  So, I messaged him.  After all what did I have to lose?!  When I reached out to Mike and told him what I was facing, he simply said let’s do this together.  Talk about floored.  How many trainers do that and without hesitation might I add.  So, I took the plunge went all in and was one of his first clients.  Best decision I ever made!! He is more than my trainer now, he is my friend.  When I met Mike for the first time at an author event about two years later, I was stoked and scared at the same time.  All I could think was will he be proud of this accomplishment and milestone I’ve reached?  I believe I did.  This truly was the greatest time of my life.  This man challenges me on the daily and with a smile at that lol.  Mike does not make you feel horrible for being overweight, instead, he has you face reality and supports you thru this journey and helps you find ways to beat and overcome this obstacle.  The first thing you learn under Mike’s wing is that this is not a diet, it’s a journey in life.  To date, I am proud to say I am half the size.  Still have so much more weight to go, but, I know I will get there and with Mike by my side.  My health issues are still high risk and most of the time I want to give up, but when I reach that point, I text Mike and he is there for me, no questions asked.  He helps me see and understand what to do and where to go from there.  One thing I’ve learned is that there is always a way to overcome this battle.  I am a fighter, a challenge, a dreamer, a believer, a warrior, but most importantly, I am a survivor.  A person that refuses to give up on her hopes and dreams despite her health crisis.  I could not imagine this journey in life being with anyone else.  Thank you Mike for believing in me and for helping me get my life back.  You hold a special place in my life and I hope to continue to make you proud….one day at a time.
